These are overused fandom terms that I don't associate with myself. As a rule, I don't squee, I am notoriously bad at discerning "slashable" pairings (they usually have to be pointed out to me), and fangirling is just a weird term all around.

( Yet here I am, squeeing and fangirling over a new fandom - no slash goggles required. )

You know, I started this week thinking I had made a really bad error at work - like a five figure error. After finding out that I didn't, the rest of the week seems pretty easy, especially since there's a holiday weekend waiting at the end of it!

Today's discussion topic was - how to tell it's a fic written by so-and-so.

Wrote 258 in the allotted ten minutes, spend the next twenty deleting a third of them, and another thirty adding and subtracting all over again. Two steps forward and one step back...but I'm still on the positive side!

That was the fastest ten minutes ever! Still, 178 words on my CoE Rewrite of Doom - but that's 17.8 words a minute, which would be 5,340 by the end of the month, which doesn't even equal what I've done so far, which means - great googly moogly, this is going to be another looooong story.

I left work early so I can catch the IMAX version of ST at 4:00. I have to say, while I'm looking forward to seeing it, I am such a Star Trek purist that my expectations are...muddled. Almost all of you who've seen it and commented have enjoyed it, albeit with some reservations. I'm okay with viewing the movie as it purports to be - an AU or reset ( Read more... )
